More than 30,000 supporters of FC Barcelona went to Basel to watch
this Cup Winners Cup final between FC Barcelona and Fortuna of Dussel
dorf.The weather was very hot in this Swiss town.The match was very
competitive,but at last our glorious team was the winner with justice.
The quiet streets of Basel were invaded by our hooligans at the end of
the match,very excited about this first Cup Winner Cup.In downtown Bar-
celona the streets were also crowded by people celebrating that all night
trough.Nearly a million people went out the streets.
After this final our great dutch player Neskeens left our club having done
an irremarcable work all this time.We were all a bit sad about that.
The president of UEFA (European Championships Organization) Artemio
Franchi,gave the cup to our captain Asensi.After that supporters invaded
the field excited with that victory of our glorious FC Barcelona.This was
a magic and unforgotable night for our Club and our community Catalu-
nya.Indeed soccer is the number one sport here in Spain and most Euro-
pean countries.
The number of supporters who went to Basel were 30,000 for FC Barcelo-
na and 15,000 for Fortuna Dusseldorf.The behaviour of public was very
correct,not a single incident.
